BMW sold 613,000 cars YTD

BMW has boosted its profit last quarter. The German automaker owes this, among other things, to increased sales of models with high margins. BMW also reaped the benefits of previously implemented cost savings.

The operating profit increased by almost a third to 2.3 billion euros and the net result increased by more than a tenth to 1.5 billion euros. Another factor is that the results in the comparable period last year were clearly depressed by stricter emission tests and various one-off items.

All in all, BMW sold more than 613,000 cars, including the sale of the Mini and Rolls-Royce brands. In numbers, sales went up by just under 4 percent. The turnover amounted to around 26.7 billion euros. That is almost 8 percent more than a year earlier.

BMW should mainly have luxury models such as the X7. The money that the group earns in this way can help the car manufacturer with the heavy investments that go into making new electric models.
