Deutsche Telekom feels no pain with COVID-19

Deutsche Telekom posted more profit in the first quarter and says the impact of the corona crisis on the company has been limited so far. The German telecom giant maintains its expectations for the entire year.

Net profit increased year-on-year by 2 percent to 916 million euros and sales climbed 2.3 percent to 19.9 billion euros. Adjusted operating profit increased by 10 percent to 6.5 billion euros. The company received more revenue from telephony services and saw growth in the number of broadband customers.

For this entire year, the company is counting on a result of 25.5 billion euros, with increasing turnover. Deutsche Telekom has meanwhile completed the acquisition of the American Sprint through its subsidiary T-Mobile US. This takeover is now included in the results.
