Less profits and turnover for Fiat Chrysler in quarterly report

Fiat Chrysler automaker suffer from difficult market conditions in the first three months. The Italian-American company sold fewer cars and therefore also recorded a lower turnover. As the profit margin also decreased, adjusted net profit fell by almost half.

Fiat Chrysler was struggling, particularly in Asia, with a decrease in sales of almost a third. China, the most important market in that region, set the tone there. Things went better in Europe and North America. Furthermore, the luxury brand Maserati still had a difficult time. Sales there decreased by a third.

Total revenue amounted to 24.5 billion euros, against 25.7 billion in the first three months of 2018. The adjusted net profit amounted to 570 million euros. That was 963 million euros a year earlier.
