Møller-Maersk more optimistic on 2020 performance

The Danish container giant A. P. Møller-Maersk has increased the profit expectation for 2020. The company now expects an operating result (ebitda) of between 7.5 billion and 8 billion dollars due to continued recovery in demand.

Previously, Maersk was counting on a profit of 6 billion to 7 billion dollars. Maersk now assumes that volumes have decreased by 3% on an annual basis in the third quarter, which is slightly better than expected. The company estimates that it will have to spend $ 100 million in reorganization costs due to the dismissal of some 2000 employees in september.
