Royal Dutch Shell is looking into the possibilities of obliging its employees to vaccinate themselves against corona, and those who refuse will be fired. This is reflected in an internal document of the energy giant dated 1 September, which was reviewed by the Financial Times.
Initially, it would cover personnel in offshore and other remote locations and at a later stage also personnel elsewhere.
“For employees who refuse to comply with a vaccination requirement, we would make all reasonable efforts to prevent their employment from being terminated, but will have no choice but to do so,” the paper states in the document.
Incidentally, the document would also say that Shell should not be a “pioneer” and “should be in line with governments and society on this controversial subject”.
