Little progress in trade negotiations

Contrary to the recent optimism that Donald Trump exudes, the US and China hardly make any progress in the trade negotiations in Beijing. This is what the Bloomberg news agency reports on the basis of insiders.

The parties would not succeed in narrowing the disagreements about structural reforms of the Chinese economy, although they are trying to avoid the US increase in import tariffs on Chinese goods on 1 March.

They argue that it is also unclear when Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping meet to seal a possible deal.
