German industry fell 1.1 percent m/m

Production of German industry fell unexpectedly in September. This was shown on Friday by figures from Destatis, the German statistical office.

Production, adjusted for seasonality and working days, was 1.1 percent lower in September than in August. Production was expected to increase by 1.0% on a monthly basis.

In August it was also a 3.5% decrease.

On an annual basis, industrial production was 1.0 percent lower in September compared to an upward revision of 2.2 percent on an annual basis in August.
