German retail sales volumes increased 6.2 percent y/y in June

German retail sales increased in June. This was shown on Monday by figures from the German statistical office Destatis.

On a monthly basis, sales increased by 4.2 per cent in June, adjusted for inflation. As a result, growth is significantly stronger than the 1.8 percent anticipated by economists.

On an annual basis, retail sales increased 6.2 per cent in June, also adjusted for inflation and seasonal effects.
