For the glass and steel structure of Hudson Yards 30 New York uses powder coatings from the paint concern AkzoNobel. This is the recently completed tower that is slightly higher than the Empire State Building. No financial details of the prestigious job were revealed.

Hudson Yards 30 is about 387 meters high and also has the highest outside observation deck in the western hemisphere. That is at 335 meters altitude and is expected to be open to the public in 2020.

AkzoNobel also supplied products for various other new buildings in the neighborhood, at various stages of completion. For example, the Dutch are involved in the neighboring, smaller Hudson Yards 10 tower, for which industrial coatings have been provided. Hudson Yards will ultimately consist of more than twenty buildings, including living and office space, shops, restaurants and a luxury hotel.
