Garmin buys hometrainer maker Tacx

Creator of exercise bikes Tacx is taken over by Garmin. According to the navigation specialist, the equipment of the Dutch Tacx fits perfectly into the fitness portfolio of the company. Financial details about the deal were not disclosed.

Tacx is based in Wassenaar. In addition to fitness equipment, the company also builds other supplies and is also active in the development of apps and software. Tacx also has a distribution center in Germany.

Garmin is investing in the research department at Tacx in Germany. The nearly 200 Tacx employees are all transferring to Garmin. The navigation specialist expects to complete the acquisition before the summer.
