The British meal delivery company Just Eat, which is being taken over by the Dutch company Takeaway.com, probably met the previously stated forecast for the underlying operating result for last year. The British announced this on the basis of provisional figures.
Just Eat expects to be able to record an underlying operating result (EBITDA) of £ 200 million for 2019. That falls within the bandwidth that the company indicated earlier. It reached from 185 million to 205 million pounds.
Just Eat received 254 million orders last year and generated a turnover of around 1 billion pounds, equivalent to just under 1.2 billion euros. Just Eat had anticipated a bandwidth of 1 billion to 1.1 billion pounds for sales. The number of orders in the United Kingdom increased by 8 percent last year.
Just Eat also announced that it would deliver meals for McDonald’s in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This collaboration will start in the course of this year. Just Eat becomes the second company to deliver to the American fast food chain in those markets.
Just Eat is currently being taken over by Takeaway. The British market watchdog is still looking at the acquisition, but both companies expect it to be completed in the first quarter of this year.
