Mohamed El-Erian joined Barclays


Mohamed El-Erian, a well-known name in the international financial sector, is given a position at the British bank Barclays. He will become a non-executive director there, starting January 1 next year.

El-Erian is top economic adviser at the German insurance company Allianz. Previously the American of Egyptian descent was, among other things, chief executive of the large asset manager Pimco.

Barclays further announced that Dawn Fitzpatrick has become a non-executive director since Wednesday. She is head of investments at Soros Fund Management, the investment company of billionaire George Soros. The British bank wants to strengthen its governance with the appointments.
