Beiersdorf generated more revenue last year. In addition to growth on its own, mainly due to good performances from brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and Aquaphor, the German care product maker also benefited from the earlier acquisition of the American maker of sunscreen Coppertone.
In his provisional figures, Beiersdorf achieved a turnover of almost 7.7 billion euros. As a result, revenue rose by almost 6 percent on an annual basis. This was 4 percent on its own. Beiersdorf emphasizes that the consumer division made a strong contribution to growth. With regard to the Tesa part, which makes and supplies various tapes and self-adhesive system solutions, including to the automotive industry, market conditions were challenging according to Beiersdorf. There was a slight growth here.
The company has already warned that it will face the necessary headwind this year without going into details. Stefan de Loecker, Chairman of the Board, is cautiously optimistic about the current financial year. Beiersdorf reports definitive figures at the beginning of March.
