Striking Hungarians appeal to the German Volskwagen management

S

Employees of the Audi factory in the Hungarian city of Gyor ask for support from their bosses at the headquarters of parent company Volkswagen in Germany. Since Thursday, the Audi factory, where cars and power sources are produced, is being on strike in a call for better working conditions.

Several salary offers from the local management of the Audi factory were rejected by the staff. Hungarian trade unions contacted the head office in hopes of breaking the stalemate.

Because of the strike, the work in one of the most important Audi production locations in Europe is virtually silent. The factory also makes an important contribution to industrial production in Hungary.
