Production of French industry is up

Production in French industry picked up in September from the fall a month earlier. Production increased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis, according to figures from the French statistics agency.

Economists generally predicted a 0.4 percent increase in industrial production. In August, production in the French industry shrank by 0.9 percent.

On an annual basis, industrial production improved by 0.1 percent. A revised contraction of 1.3 percent was seen here a month earlier.
